Key Points
- Astera Labs reported third-quarter revenue of $584.9 million, exceeding the $551 million estimate and increasing 154% year over year.
- Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.32, above the $1.19 estimate, while non-GAAP operating income increased to $261.6 million.
- Fourth-quarter revenue guidance of $730 million to $750 million points to continued expansion, supported by growing demand for high-speed connectivity solutions used in AI infrastructure.
Astera Labs delivered a substantial increase in third-quarter 2026 revenue, reflecting the growing importance of high-speed connectivity technologies as technology companies expand artificial intelligence infrastructure. The semiconductor company’s results exceeded the estimates presented in the earnings summary, while its fourth-quarter outlook indicates that demand for its connectivity products could continue to strengthen as AI systems become increasingly complex.
Revenue and Earnings Exceed Expectations
Astera Labs generated $584.9 million in revenue during the third quarter, compared with the $551 million estimate. Revenue increased 154% year over year, highlighting the company’s rapid expansion in the semiconductor infrastructure market. Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.32, exceeding the $1.19 estimate and representing growth of 169% from the previous year.
Non-GAAP operating income totaled $261.6 million, also exceeding the $233 million estimate. The company reported a non-GAAP operating margin of 44.7%, an improvement of 300 basis points year over year. These results indicate that Astera Labs is converting a significant portion of its expanding revenue into operating earnings, an important measure as semiconductor suppliers seek to scale alongside AI-related infrastructure investment.
However, profitability was not uniformly stronger across all metrics. Non-GAAP gross margin stood at 72.4%, compared with 71.9% expected, but declined 400 basis points year over year. The combination of higher operating margins and lower gross margins suggests that operating efficiency improved even as the underlying cost structure placed some pressure on gross profitability.
Fourth-Quarter Guidance Signals Continued Expansion
Management’s fourth-quarter outlook points to another significant step up in business activity. Astera Labs expects revenue between $730 million and $750 million, compared with the $656 million estimate cited in the earnings summary. Adjusted earnings per share are projected between $1.62 and $1.66, above the $1.42 estimate, while the company expects a non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 72%.
The guidance is particularly relevant because it suggests that demand is extending beyond a single strong reporting period. As AI infrastructure expands, data centers require increasingly sophisticated systems to connect processors, accelerators, memory, and other computing components. Astera Labs operates in this connectivity layer, positioning its products within an important part of the broader AI hardware ecosystem.
Nevertheless, delivering on the forecast will depend on customer deployment schedules, continued demand for connectivity products, and the company’s ability to maintain margins as production scales. The difference between projected revenue growth and gross-margin performance will therefore remain an important area of attention.
Product Portfolio Expansion Strengthens Its AI Infrastructure Position
Astera Labs also highlighted several product developments that could support its longer-term growth. Its Scorpio 320-lane fabric switch became the company’s largest product family, while the Aries 7 connectivity reach extender now supports distances of more than 50 meters. These developments address the growing need to connect components across increasingly large and complex data center environments.
The company also reported six reference designs for its Orion platform, with scalability ranging from eight to 160 accelerators. Its Leo X-Series was highlighted for delivering up to 62% faster time-to-first-token and 22% more tokens per second. These performance figures, as presented in the earnings summary, illustrate the company’s focus on improving the speed and efficiency of AI computing systems.
Management said design activity had accelerated across a broad range of programs and customer applications. It also emphasized that expanding its intelligent connectivity platform and securing new design wins could increase the company’s dollar content per accelerator and broaden its addressable market. Design wins are strategically important because they can establish relationships with customers before products enter larger-scale deployment, although they do not automatically guarantee future revenue.
Looking ahead, Astera Labs’ ability to translate its product momentum into sustained commercial growth will be central to its financial performance. Investors will be watching fourth-quarter revenue delivery, operating and gross-margin trends, and the conversion of new design wins into customer deployments. The broader pace of AI data center investment will also remain a key factor, as demand for connectivity infrastructure increasingly depends on the scale and timing of industry-wide expansion.
