Key Points
- Arista Networks reported third-quarter revenue of $3.66 billion, exceeding the $3.33 billion estimate and rising 58.5% year over year.
- Adjusted EPS reached $1.20, compared with the $1.08 estimate, while non-GAAP operating income increased to $1.80 billion.
- Fourth-quarter guidance exceeded market expectations, with projected revenue of $3.9 billion to $4.0 billion, reflecting continued demand for high-performance networking infrastructure.
Arista Networks delivered a strong third-quarter 2026 performance, supported by expanding demand for networking infrastructure used in cloud computing and artificial intelligence environments. Revenue and adjusted earnings exceeded the estimates presented in the earnings summary, while management’s fourth-quarter outlook points to continued business momentum as data center operators expand their computing capacity.
Revenue Growth and Operating Performance Exceed Expectations
Arista Networks generated $3.66 billion in third-quarter revenue, surpassing the $3.33 billion estimate and representing year-over-year growth of 58.5%. Adjusted earnings per share reached $1.20, above the expected $1.08 and reflecting an increase of 56% from the previous year. The results indicate that demand for the company’s networking solutions continues to translate into substantial financial growth.
Operating performance also exceeded expectations. Non-GAAP operating income reached $1.80 billion, compared with the $1.62 billion estimate. The non-GAAP operating margin stood at 49.1%, improving by 50 basis points year over year. These figures demonstrate the company’s ability to maintain strong operating profitability while expanding revenue at a rapid pace.
Gross margin, however, showed a more moderate trend. Arista reported a non-GAAP gross margin of 64%, above the 62.9% estimate but 120 basis points lower than the same period last year. The difference between gross-margin performance and operating-margin improvement suggests that investors should examine both product economics and operating efficiency when assessing the sustainability of the company’s profitability.
Fourth-Quarter Outlook Signals Continued Demand
Arista’s fourth-quarter guidance provides another indication of management’s confidence in its business pipeline. The company expects revenue of approximately $3.9 billion to $4.0 billion, compared with the $3.6 billion estimate cited in the earnings summary. Adjusted earnings per share are projected between $1.26 and $1.30, above the $1.15 estimate.
The outlook is significant because networking infrastructure has become an increasingly important component of large-scale AI deployments. As data centers connect more accelerators and computing systems, the capacity, speed, and reliability of their networks become central to overall performance. Arista’s products operate within this infrastructure layer, placing the company in a market influenced by continued investment from cloud providers and other technology businesses.
The company also reported $5.10 billion in deferred revenue. This figure represents revenue-related amounts scheduled for recognition in future periods under applicable accounting requirements. While it provides an indication of contracted business activity, the timing of recognition will depend on contractual obligations and delivery schedules.
Open Ethernet Architecture Expands Arista’s Strategic Position
Beyond its financial results, Arista highlighted developments in its open Ethernet architecture, which supports configurations of up to 144 accelerators per rack and 1,024 XPUs. The announcement reflects the company’s focus on networking systems designed to support increasingly large and interconnected AI computing environments.
The expansion of AI infrastructure is creating demand not only for processors and accelerators but also for the networking equipment that enables these systems to communicate efficiently. Arista’s positioning in this segment could therefore benefit from broader data center investment, although commercial performance will depend on customer adoption, deployment schedules, and competition from other networking suppliers.
Another notable development was Arista’s addition to the S&P 100 Index. The inclusion marks a significant milestone in the company’s public-market profile, although index membership does not independently determine its operating performance or future valuation.
Looking ahead, investors will be monitoring whether Arista can deliver on its fourth-quarter revenue guidance while maintaining its high operating margins. Gross-margin trends, deferred revenue conversion, and demand for its open Ethernet architecture will provide important indicators of business quality. More broadly, the pace of AI-related data center investment and the ability of customers to translate infrastructure spending into commercial returns will remain central factors shaping the company’s growth outlook.
