Tel Aviv Market Delivers a Mixed Session

Tel Aviv equities closed mixed on September 22, 2026, with the leading benchmarks posting modest gains while broader market segments remained under pressure. The Tel Aviv-35 advanced 0.41% to 4,307.75, while the broader Tel Aviv-125 gained 0.21% to 4,173.28.

The headline gains did not reflect uniformly positive market breadth. Within the TA-125, 73 securities declined compared with 51 that advanced. The divergence indicates that the modest rise in the benchmark was accompanied by weakness across a substantial portion of its constituents.

Large-Cap Performance Contrasts With Broader Weakness

The Tel Aviv-90 fell 0.33% to 3,777.18, with 51 declining securities against 37 advancers. The Tel Aviv-SME60 also declined, losing 0.28% to 1,316.89.

Financial stocks were among the weaker segments. The Tel Aviv 90 and Banks index dropped 0.61% to 4,028.56, with 56 declining securities compared with 37 advancers.

The Tel Aviv-200 slipped 0.10% to 4,003.37, recording 117 declines versus 79 advances. Meanwhile, the Tel Aviv Sector-Balance index was virtually unchanged, gaining just 0.01% to 4,759.33.

The Tel Aviv-20 also finished marginally higher, adding 0.05% to 4,142.17, although its internal breadth remained negative, with 13 declining securities compared with seven advancers.

Trading Activity Remains Elevated

Market activity remained substantial during the session. Total stock turnover reached approximately NIS 4.294 billion, while bond turnover totaled approximately NIS 4.598 billion.

TA-125 turnover reached approximately NIS 3.404 billion, while the Tel Aviv-200 recorded approximately NIS 3.481 billion. The Sector-Balance index also registered turnover of approximately NIS 3.259 billion.

The elevated trading volumes came despite relatively modest index movements, suggesting active positioning beneath the surface of the headline benchmarks.

Sharp Individual Stock Moves Add to Market Divergence

Individual securities continued to record significant price movements. Nice was the strongest notable gainer in the supplied TA-125 data, rising 9.17% to 35,710. Tamar Petroleum moved in the opposite direction, falling 4.76% to 2,640.

The supplied data also identifies a “national” trading cycle of approximately NIS 260.269 million. These individual movements highlight the continued divergence between specific companies even as the major indices remained relatively stable.

The next sessions will show whether the major benchmarks can maintain their recent levels while broader market participation remains uneven. Investors will likely monitor the TA-35 around 4,300 and the TA-125 above 4,100, alongside the TA-90’s ability to stabilize after its latest decline. Market breadth will remain an important indicator because the September 22 gains in the major benchmarks occurred alongside more declines than advances across several broader indices. Continued elevated turnover, particularly in both stocks and bonds, will also provide a useful measure of investor positioning as the market moves forward.
