Key Points
- Honeywell Technologies has launched Forge Cognition, an AI platform developed using technology from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies to improve building and industrial operations.
- A pilot at NVIDIA’s Voyager campus identified up to 10% potential energy savings and reported an average reduction of up to 90% in unnecessary alerts.
- The platform could expand Honeywell’s software and recurring-revenue opportunities, but its financial impact will depend on commercial adoption, implementation costs and measurable customer returns.
Honeywell Technologies is expanding its industrial automation strategy with Forge Cognition, an artificial intelligence platform introduced on October 14, 2026, using technology from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies. The launch comes as investors look for ways to extend AI adoption beyond data centers and software into physical infrastructure, commercial buildings and industrial facilities. For Honeywell stock (NASDAQ: HON), the opportunity lies in combining its established industrial customer base with digital services that could support future growth, although the platform’s contribution to revenue and profitability remains uncertain.
Forge Cognition Brings AI Into Physical Operations
Forge Cognition combines AI agents with digital twins, virtual representations of physical facilities and equipment. By analyzing real-time operating data, the platform is designed to help facility teams prioritize alarms, identify emerging heating, ventilation and air-conditioning problems, and evaluate opportunities to reduce energy consumption. Digital simulations also allow operators to assess potential changes before implementing them in real-world environments.
NVIDIA contributes AI models and accelerated computing technologies, including its Nemotron models and Omniverse simulation libraries. Dell Technologies supplies computing, storage and supporting infrastructure. The collaboration allows Honeywell to integrate external technology capabilities with its expertise in industrial systems and facility management. Customers can choose manual, semi-autonomous or autonomous operating modes, with human oversight and the ability to override automated actions.
Early Pilot Results Show Potential, but Revenue Remains Unclear
One of the platform’s early testing locations is NVIDIA’s Voyager campus in Santa Clara, California. Honeywell reported an average reduction of up to 90% in unnecessary alerts and identified the potential to reduce energy and utility consumption by as much as 10%. The system also maintained a comfort score above 95%. These early results illustrate potential operational benefits, but they do not establish that every customer will achieve similar savings or that the identified efficiencies have already translated into financial gains.
Other pilot locations include the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, NEX Mall in Singapore, Vanderbilt University in the United States, and Honeywell campuses in Bengaluru, India, and Richardson, Texas. Honeywell says its installed base spans more than 300,000 sites, creating a substantial potential market for the platform. However, the company has not disclosed Forge Cognition’s pricing, implementation costs or a dedicated revenue forecast.
What the Launch Could Mean for HON Investors
The platform could strengthen Honeywell’s position as a provider of industrial automation software and digital services rather than relying primarily on physical equipment and systems. If adoption expands, recurring software and service revenue could support growth and create opportunities to sell additional solutions to existing customers. The financial outcome, however, will depend on adoption rates, deployment expenses, competitive pressures and the company’s ability to demonstrate a convincing return on investment.
Honeywell shares reportedly gained around 2% in trading ahead of the public announcement, although a short-term price move does not establish a lasting change in the stock’s valuation. Investors will be watching for commercial deployments, software revenue growth, margin performance and management commentary on customer demand. Honeywell’s upcoming financial updates should also help investors assess whether its automation strategy is translating into measurable business results.
The key test over the coming quarters will be whether successful pilots turn into larger commercial contracts. Wider adoption could create a new growth channel for Honeywell, while slower deployment, high implementation costs or limited customer savings could constrain the opportunity. Until the company provides clearer evidence of revenue contribution and profitability, Forge Cognition represents a potentially meaningful strategic development rather than a quantified financial catalyst for HON stock.
