- MSCI Europe gained 0.66%, while the DAX and CAC 40 advanced 0.42% and 0.32%, respectively.

European Markets Extend Their Recovery
European markets continued to advance on October 13, with all six major equity benchmarks posting gains. The FTSE 100 led the region, rising 0.93% to 10,755.44, while the MSCI Europe climbed 0.66% to 2,724.17.
The DAX advanced 0.42% to 25,385.01, and the CAC 40 gained 0.32% to 7,858.14. Meanwhile, the EURO STOXX 50 edged up 0.08% to 6,206.44, while the Euronext 100 recorded a marginal increase of 0.04% to 1,866.88.
The gains extended the positive performance seen in the previous reported session on October 12, although the strength of the advance varied considerably across the major indexes.
FTSE 100 Outperforms Major European Benchmarks
The FTSE 100 recorded the strongest percentage gain among the listed equity indexes, advancing nearly 1% during the session. The MSCI Europe followed with a solid increase, while the DAX and CAC 40 also posted moderate gains.
In contrast, the EURO STOXX 50 and Euronext 100 recorded only marginal advances. Their smaller increases indicate that the upward movement was less pronounced across these broader regional benchmarks than in the FTSE 100.
Nevertheless, all six major equity indexes finished higher, reflecting a broadly positive session across European stock markets.
European Currencies Weaken
European currency indexes moved lower on October 13, contrasting with the gains across equities. The PHLX Euro declined 0.42% to 111.55, while the PHLX British Pound fell 0.16% to 132.12.
The euro recorded the larger decline, while the pound posted a more modest loss. Both currencies weakened even as European equity benchmarks continued their advance.
Outlook
European markets enter the next session with equities extending their recovery for a second consecutive reported session. The FTSE 100 and MSCI Europe led the gains, while the EURO STOXX 50 and Euronext 100 remained close to unchanged.
Investors will monitor whether the broader advance continues and whether the more modest gains in several regional indexes develop into stronger upward momentum. Currency movements will also remain in focus following declines in both the euro and pound indexes.
