The 2026 rally across parts of the U.S. technology sector has increasingly extended beyond the most prominent artificial intelligence platforms to the companies supplying the infrastructure required to operate them. Data from the attached market snapshot shows that 14 S&P 500 constituents have more than doubled year to date, with semiconductor, memory, storage, networking, and hardware companies dominating the list.

The magnitude of the gains illustrates how strongly investors have repositioned around the AI infrastructure cycle. Rather than focusing exclusively on companies developing AI software and applications, capital has increasingly moved toward businesses supplying the chips, servers, memory, storage, and connectivity required to expand data-center capacity.

SanDisk Leads an Extraordinary Group of Winners

SanDisk stands at the top of the list with a reported year-to-date gain of 410.7%. Dell Technologies follows with a gain of 260.5%, while Micron Technology has risen 207.5%. Seagate Technology has also nearly tripled, gaining 195.1%.

The performance becomes even more notable further down the ranking. Intel has gained 175.5%, Marvell Technology has risen 157.4%, and Western Digital has advanced 152.1%. Lumentum and AMD have also more than doubled, with gains of 141.5% and 125.7%, respectively.

These companies operate at different points across the semiconductor and computing ecosystem, but their performance points toward a common market theme: AI infrastructure has become one of the dominant forces shaping technology valuations.

AI Spending Is Spreading Across the Technology Supply Chain

The composition of the winners is particularly important. Memory manufacturers, storage companies, semiconductor designers, networking suppliers, and server providers all benefit when cloud providers and technology companies expand data-center capacity.

Companies such as Micron, SanDisk, Seagate, and Western Digital are directly exposed to rising demand for data storage and memory. AMD and Marvell participate in different portions of the computing and connectivity ecosystem, while Dell supplies servers and infrastructure used by enterprises and data-center operators.

This creates a broader interpretation of the AI investment cycle. The economic impact of AI spending is not confined to a small group of software developers or chip designers. As hyperscalers and enterprises expand computing capacity, the spending flows through an increasingly extensive network of suppliers.

Momentum Broadens Beyond the Semiconductor Sector

The list also demonstrates that the market’s strongest performers are not exclusively semiconductor companies. Hewlett Packard Enterprise gained 121.6%, Applied Materials advanced 109.8%, Corning increased 105.4%, and Fortinet rose 101.0%. Flex and Moderna also crossed the threshold, gaining 100.8% and 100.6%, respectively.

The inclusion of companies outside the core semiconductor group suggests that the market’s leadership has become broader, although AI infrastructure remains a prominent common thread among many of the technology names. For institutional investors in Israel and globally, this dispersion is important because it demonstrates how the AI capital-expenditure cycle can influence valuations throughout the wider technology supply chain.

At the same time, exceptionally large gains create a more demanding environment for future performance. As valuations rise, investors typically require stronger evidence that earnings, cash flow, and underlying demand can support elevated expectations. Recent volatility in several leading memory and storage stocks also demonstrates how quickly sentiment can change when guidance fails to match exceptionally high market expectations.

Looking ahead, investors will closely monitor AI-related capital expenditure, data-center demand, memory and storage pricing, semiconductor orders, and earnings growth across the infrastructure ecosystem. The key question for the market is whether the extraordinary gains among these S&P 500 companies reflect the early stages of a sustained infrastructure cycle or whether expectations have already moved significantly ahead of underlying fundamentals. The next several quarters of corporate earnings and guidance will be critical in determining whether this year’s market leadership can be sustained.
