ADP shares moved higher after the company delivered stronger-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter results, giving investors renewed confidence in the payroll and human-resources technology provider’s ability to maintain steady growth. The performance comes as businesses continue to invest in workforce-management technology while economic uncertainty keeps employment trends, corporate spending and interest rates central to the outlook for enterprise software and services.

Strong Fourth-Quarter Results Support the Stock

ADP reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $5.47 billion, representing approximately 7% growth from a year earlier and slightly exceeding market expectations. Net income rose to $978.6 million, while adjusted earnings reached $2.64 per share, compared with expectations of roughly $2.59 per share.

Growth was broad-based across ADP’s main operations. Employer Services revenue increased 7% to approximately $3.70 billion, while PEO Services revenue also rose 7% to about $1.78 billion. The results indicate that demand for payroll, human-resources outsourcing and related workforce services remained resilient despite a more complicated global economic environment.

AI and Operating Efficiency Are Becoming Key Growth Drivers

Beyond the headline financial results, investors are increasingly focused on ADP’s efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence into its workforce-management products. AI-powered tools can improve automation, analytics and decision-making for employers, potentially increasing the value of ADP’s platforms while supporting longer-term productivity gains.

The company also reported an expansion in adjusted operating profitability, with adjusted EBIT rising 13% year over year to $1.37 billion and the adjusted EBIT margin reaching 25.1%. Improving margins are particularly important for investors because they indicate that revenue growth is translating into stronger operating performance rather than being absorbed entirely by higher costs.

For Israeli investors following global technology markets, ADP provides exposure to the intersection of enterprise software, payroll infrastructure and AI-driven workplace technology. Its performance also offers a window into corporate hiring trends and business spending on essential workforce services.

Fiscal 2027 Guidance Sets the Next Test

Management expects fiscal 2027 revenue to grow between 5% and 6%, with adjusted earnings per share projected to increase 9% to 11%. ADP also expects adjusted EBIT margin expansion of 70 to 90 basis points. The outlook suggests continued expansion, although at a measured pace that reflects the mature nature of the company’s core businesses.

ADP is also positioned to benefit from its client-funds business, which generates interest income from funds held on behalf of clients. The company expects interest on client funds of $1.54 billion to $1.56 billion in fiscal 2027, although this component remains sensitive to interest-rate conditions and the broader monetary-policy environment.

Going forward, investors will monitor revenue growth, client retention, AI adoption, margins, employment trends and interest income from client funds. The company’s remaining $6 billion share-repurchase authorization could also influence capital allocation expectations. The key question is whether ADP can sustain consistent mid-single-digit revenue growth while expanding margins and using AI to strengthen its competitive position in an increasingly technology-driven human-resources market.
