Tel Aviv Market Rebounds After Previous Session’s Decline

Tel Aviv equities recovered on September 16, 2026, as buying returned to several major benchmarks following the broad-based decline recorded in the previous session. The Tel Aviv-35 rose 1.32% to 4,246.84, while the broader Tel Aviv-125 advanced 1.04% to 4,125.35.

The recovery was supported by improved market breadth within the TA-125. A total of 79 securities advanced compared with 43 that declined, representing a notable shift from the heavily negative breadth seen on September 15.

TA-20 Leads Gains While TA-90 Stabilizes

The Tel Aviv-90 was essentially unchanged, ending at 3,771.52. Despite the flat headline performance, its internal breadth improved, with 50 advancing securities compared with 36 decliners.

Other market segments posted gains. The Tel Aviv-SME60 increased 0.62% to 1,309.97, while the Tel Aviv-200 gained 0.41% to 3,973.53. The Tel Aviv 90 and Banks index rose 0.47% to 4,056.36, indicating a moderate recovery across financial stocks.

The strongest move among the supplied benchmarks came from the Tel Aviv-20, which climbed 1.41% to 4,114.60, with 18 advancing securities and only two declines. The Tel Aviv Sector-Balance index also advanced 0.68% to 4,707.35.

Trading Activity Remains Elevated

Trading activity remained substantial during the rebound. Total stock turnover reached approximately NIS 3.31 billion, while bond turnover totaled approximately NIS 5.69 billion. TA-125 turnover was approximately NIS 2.51 billion, while the Tel Aviv-200 recorded approximately NIS 2.59 billion.

The relatively high turnover alongside improved equity breadth indicates that the recovery occurred with meaningful market participation. Bond trading also remained active, with turnover substantially above NIS 5 billion.

Individual stocks continued to show significant movements despite the broader recovery. Doral Energy was the strongest notable gainer within the TA-125, rising 6.23% to 5,197. Nikes moved in the opposite direction, declining 4.00% to 13,200. Workers recorded a reported trading cycle of approximately NIS 178.94 million.

The next sessions will help determine whether the September 16 rebound develops into a sustained stabilization following the recent volatility. Investors will likely monitor whether the TA-125 can remain above 4,100 and whether the TA-35 can hold above 4,200, while the TA-90’s ability to regain upward momentum will also be important. Continued improvement in market breadth and sustained turnover could provide evidence of stronger participation, while renewed weakness across the broader indices would indicate that the market remains sensitive to further selling pressure. Sharp moves in individual TA-125 constituents also remain an important factor to watch as investors assess sector-specific opportunities and risks.
