Key Points

  • TA-35 declines 0.60% to 4,285.35 points, while TA-90 falls 0.96% and TA-125 drops 0.70%, with declining securities significantly outnumbering advancing securities.
  • The broader market is under pressure, with TA-200 down 0.76%, TA Sector-Balance down 0.71%, and TA 90 and Banks down 0.72%.

Tel Aviv equities are trading broadly lower, with all eight listed benchmarks in negative territory. The decline is accompanied by strongly negative market breadth across most indices, indicating that the weakness is not limited to a small number of heavily weighted constituents and is instead spread across a substantial portion of the market.

Major Tel Aviv Indices Move Lower

The TA-35 is declining 0.60% to 4,285.35 points, with only eight securities advancing compared with 28 declining. The sharply negative breadth highlights the extent of selling pressure within one of Tel Aviv’s major equity benchmarks.

The TA-90 is under even greater pressure, falling 0.96% to 3,949.46 points. Just 10 securities are advancing, while 79 are declining. The combination of a nearly 1% index decline and heavily negative breadth points to widespread weakness among the constituents of the broader large- and mid-cap segment.

The TA-125 is also trading lower, down 0.70% at 4,200.65 points. Its breadth is particularly weak, with 18 advancing securities against 107 declining. This represents one of the clearest indications that the negative session extends well beyond a limited group of stocks.

Broader Market and Banking Shares Under Pressure

The weakness extends across the broader Tel Aviv equity market. The TA-200 is down 0.76% at 4,123.36 points, with 35 securities advancing and 154 declining. The breadth figures indicate substantial selling pressure across the benchmark and reinforce the negative direction seen in the major indices.

The TA Sector-Balance Index is also lower, declining 0.71% to 4,843.43 points. Only 14 securities are advancing compared with 85 declining, showing that market weakness is broadly distributed across sectors.

Banking shares are also participating in the decline. The TA 90 and Banks Index is down 0.72% at 4,178.70 points, with 11 advancing securities and 83 declining. The figures indicate that the banking segment is not providing a meaningful counterweight to the broader market weakness.

Trading activity is substantial across several benchmarks. The TA-200 records approximately NIS 510.9 million in turnover, while the TA-125 records approximately NIS 488.8 million. The TA Sector-Balance Index records approximately NIS 469.6 million, and the TA-35 records approximately NIS 397.8 million. TA-20 turnover stands at approximately NIS 263.9 million, followed by approximately NIS 165.5 million for the TA 90 and Banks Index, NIS 91.1 million for TA-90 and NIS 26.9 million for TA-SME60.

Small- and Mid-Cap Shares Also Decline

The TA-SME60 is down 0.28% at 1,384.41 points. Its breadth remains negative, with 15 advancing securities and 40 declining. Although the percentage decline is smaller than those recorded by most of the major benchmarks, the breadth figures indicate that weakness remains widespread among small- and mid-cap securities.

The TA-20 is also lower, declining 0.66% to 4,160.27 points. Only three securities are advancing compared with 17 declining. This removes a potential source of relative strength seen in the previous session and contributes to the broadly negative picture across Tel Aviv equities.

What to Watch as Trading Continues

Investors will be watching whether the broad selling pressure begins to stabilize as the session progresses, particularly given the consistently negative market breadth across the major Tel Aviv indices. The ability of the TA-35 and TA-125 to recover, alongside stabilization in banking and broader-market shares, will be important signals for near-term sentiment. At the same time, continued weakness across the TA-90, TA-200, TA-SME60 and TA-20 could indicate that investors remain cautious toward risk across multiple market segments. Trading turnover, market breadth and the performance of the banking sector will remain key indicators to monitor, while broader global equity-market conditions and changes in investor risk appetite could influence the next direction for Tel Aviv stocks.
