Israeli equities finished the week on a strong note Friday, July 31, as investors extended the previous session’s recovery with widespread buying across nearly every major sector. Gains were supported by positive market breadth, with large-cap, mid-cap, and value stocks all posting solid advances.

Unlike the previous trading session, the bond market also moved higher, signaling improving investor confidence across both equities and fixed-income assets.

Large-Cap Stocks Lead Another Broad Market Advance

The TA-35 Index advanced 1.32% to close at 4,149.50 points. Market participation was overwhelmingly positive, with 29 constituents advancing while only six declined.

The broader TA-125 Index climbed 1.25% to finish at 4,071.76 points. A total of 97 stocks advanced compared with just 20 decliners, while eight securities were unchanged. The strong market breadth reflected broad investor participation across multiple industries.

Stock market turnover totaled approximately NIS 3.08 billion, indicating steady trading activity as investors continued adding exposure following recent volatility.

The second consecutive day of gains helped recover a significant portion of the losses recorded earlier in the week and suggested improving market sentiment.

Mid-Caps, Value Stocks and Sectors Join the Rally

Performance was positive across nearly every major equity benchmark.

The TA-90 Index gained 1.25% to close at 3,833.87 points. Advancing securities outnumbered decliners by 68 to 14, demonstrating strong buying interest among Israel’s mid-cap companies.

The TA-90 and Banks Index rose 1.18% to 3,979.61 points, with 73 advancing stocks against only 14 decliners. Banking shares and other financial companies contributed positively to the broader market recovery.

The TA-125 Value Index increased 1.28% to finish at 4,100.14 points. Forty-six securities advanced while only nine declined, highlighting renewed demand for value-oriented stocks.

The Tel Aviv Sector-Balance Index climbed 1.06% to 4,640.46 points. Market breadth remained strong, with 79 advancing securities compared with just 16 decliners, confirming that buying extended across multiple sectors rather than concentrating in a handful of industries.

The broad participation across large-cap, mid-cap, banking, and value indexes suggests investor confidence strengthened considerably during the session.

Bond Market Strengthens Alongside Equities

Israel’s fixed-income market also posted broad gains, marking a notable shift from the previous session’s weakness.

The All-Bond General Index rose 0.14% to close at 431.53 points. Market breadth was exceptionally strong, with 518 bond issues advancing compared with only 49 declining securities.

The Short-Term Bond Index gained 0.03% to 477.15 points, continuing its pattern of steady performance amid changing market conditions.

Corporate bonds also participated in the rally. The Tel Bond-Adjoined A Index advanced 0.16% to 439.33 points, while the Tel Bond 60 Adjacent Index rose 0.18% to close at 427.82 points.

Bond market turnover reached approximately NIS 2.82 billion, slightly below stock market turnover but reflecting continued healthy activity across fixed-income securities.

Market Outlook

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the week with two consecutive sessions of gains, reversing part of the sharp declines experienced earlier in the week. The strong market breadth across equities and bonds indicates improving investor sentiment, although markets remain sensitive to economic data, corporate earnings, geopolitical developments, and global monetary policy expectations. Investors will watch whether this renewed momentum continues into the new trading week, with sustained buying across blue-chip and mid-cap shares serving as an important indicator of broader market confidence.
