Broader Market Rebound Gains Momentum

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed higher on August 13, with gains extending beyond the large-cap segment and into mid-cap shares.

The TA-35 Index increased 0.25% to 4,216.40 points. Twenty-two securities advanced, compared with 14 decliners, with no unchanged securities. Stock market turnover totaled approximately NIS 3.10 billion.

The broader TA-125 Index rose 0.54% to 4,087.30 points. Market participation was notably stronger, with 94 securities advancing against 31 declining and one unchanged.

The improvement in breadth compared with the previous session suggests that the market’s advance was more broadly supported rather than being driven exclusively by a small group of large-cap stocks.

Mid-Cap Stocks Lead the Advance

The strongest move among the major equity benchmarks came from the TA-90 Index, which climbed 1.56% to 3,677.55 points.

Market breadth was particularly strong. Seventy-two securities gained, while only 17 declined and one remained unchanged.

The TA-90 and Banks Index also advanced 1.25% to 3,934.45 points, supported by 76 advancing securities versus 18 decliners and one unchanged issue.

The performance indicates a meaningful improvement in participation among mid-cap and banking-related shares after several sessions in which these segments had lagged the larger companies.

Value and Sector-Balance Indexes Strengthen

The TA-125 Value Index gained 0.95% to 4,068.01 points. Forty-seven securities advanced, compared with only nine decliners.

The Tel Aviv Sector-Balance Index rose 0.87% to 4,612.83 points, with 70 advancing securities against 29 decliners and one unchanged.

These moves point to stronger demand across multiple areas of the equity market, with value-oriented shares and sector-balanced exposure both participating in the advance.

Bond Market Remains Mixed

The fixed-income market produced a more uneven performance.

The All-Bond General Index rose 0.07% to 432.55 points. However, market breadth remained slightly negative, with 248 advancing securities compared with 288 decliners and 79 unchanged.

The Short-Term Bond Index was unchanged at 477.62 points, with 42 gainers, 34 decliners and 59 unchanged securities.

The Tel Bond-Adjoined A Index declined 0.02% to 438.95 points, while the Tel Bond 60 Adjacent Index gained 0.05% to 428.57 points.

Bond market turnover reached approximately NIS 3.69 billion, exceeding the day’s stock-market turnover.

Market Outlook

The August 13 session marked a stronger and broader recovery for Israeli equities, particularly as the TA-90 substantially outperformed the TA-35 and recorded significantly positive market breadth. The gains in the TA-125 Value and Sector-Balance indexes further indicate that participation extended across different equity segments. At the same time, the mixed performance and uneven breadth in bonds suggest that investors remain selective within fixed income. The ability of mid-cap stocks to maintain their momentum while large-cap indexes hold their gains will be important in determining whether the recent recovery can develop into a more sustained advance.
