Key Points
- Tel Aviv equities are trading mostly higher, with the TA-35 rising 0.27%, the TA-125 gaining 0.24% and the TA-90 advancing 0.19%, while market breadth is positive across the broader equity benchmarks.
- The TA-90 and Banks Index is the main exception among major equity benchmarks, declining 0.05%, while the TA-125 Value Index and TA Sector-Balance Index gain 0.08% and 0.09%, respectively.
- Bond markets are also showing modest gains, with the All-Bond Index rising 0.01%, Tel Bond A Inflation-Linked advancing 0.03% and Tel Bond 60 Inflation-Linked gaining 0.02%, while equity turnover reaches approximately ₪368 million.
Tel Aviv financial markets are trading with a moderately positive bias, reversing part of the weakness seen in the previous session. The major equity benchmarks are mostly higher, while market breadth has improved across the TA-35, TA-90 and TA-125. Bond markets are also posting modest gains, pointing to a relatively stable environment across both equities and fixed income.
TA-35 and TA-125 Advance as Equity Breadth Improves
The TA-35 has gained 0.27% to 4,137.82 points. Its internal participation is slightly positive, with 19 advancing securities compared with 17 declining securities and no unchanged securities. The narrow difference between advancing and declining securities indicates that the large-cap segment is showing a relatively balanced recovery rather than a broad surge.
The broader TA-125 has advanced 0.24% to 4,024.60 points. Market breadth is more constructive, with 76 advancing securities compared with 49 declining securities and one unchanged security. The positive participation indicates that the benchmark’s gain is supported by a wider group of companies rather than being driven solely by a limited number of large-cap shares.
Mid-cap equities are also moving higher. The TA-90 has risen 0.19% to 3,666.70 points, with 57 advancing securities compared with 32 declining securities and one unchanged security. The positive breadth suggests that buying interest extends across a meaningful portion of the mid-cap segment.
The TA-90 and Banks Index, however, has declined 0.05% to 3,907.62 points. Despite the marginal decline, its internal breadth remains positive, with 57 advancing securities compared with 37 declining securities and one unchanged security. This indicates that the weakness in the benchmark is relatively limited and does not reflect broad-based selling across its constituents.
Equity-market turnover stands at approximately ₪368 million, indicating continued investor participation as Tel Aviv equities attempt to stabilize.
Value and Sector Benchmarks Maintain Positive Momentum
The TA-125 Value Index has gained 0.08% to 4,161.37 points. Its internal breadth is positive, with 31 advancing securities compared with 25 declining securities and no unchanged securities. The figures indicate modest buying interest in value-oriented shares, although the advance remains limited.
The TA Sector-Balance Index has risen 0.09% to 4,602.72 points. Market participation is also positive, with 57 advancing securities compared with 42 declining securities and one unchanged security. The data suggests that the sector-level improvement is supported across a relatively broad group of constituents.
The current structure is more constructive than the previous session, when all major equity benchmarks were lower and market breadth was strongly negative. The return to positive breadth across the TA-35, TA-90 and TA-125 suggests that selling pressure has eased. However, the relatively modest index gains indicate that investors remain selective rather than aggressively increasing risk exposure.
The divergence in the TA-90 and Banks Index also warrants attention. While most major benchmarks are higher, the banking-related index remains slightly lower, showing that financial shares are not fully participating in the broader recovery.
Bond Markets Remain Stable with Broad Participation
Fixed-income markets are also trading modestly higher. The All-Bond Index has gained 0.01% to 432.46 points, with 127 advancing securities compared with 117 declining securities and 252 unchanged securities. The nearly balanced breadth indicates limited directional movement, but the overall price performance remains positive.
The Short-Term Bond Index has risen 0.03% to 478.26 points. Its internal participation is slightly negative, with nine advancing securities compared with 10 declining securities and 17 unchanged securities. Despite the mixed breadth, the index remains stable and continues to provide a relatively defensive component within the broader market.
Inflation-linked bonds are performing somewhat better. The Tel Bond A Inflation-Linked Index has advanced 0.03% to 439.02 points, supported by 21 advancing securities against five declining securities and 49 unchanged securities. The Tel Bond 60 Inflation-Linked Index has gained 0.02% to 428.66 points, with 23 advancing securities compared with 18 declining securities and 19 unchanged securities.
Bond-market turnover stands at approximately ₪311 million, compared with approximately ₪368 million in equities. The substantial activity in both asset classes indicates that investors remain engaged as market conditions stabilize.
Outlook: Investors Assess Whether the Recovery Can Gain Strength
Looking ahead, investors will monitor whether the improvement in market breadth can develop into stronger momentum across Tel Aviv equities. Continued gains in the TA-35 and TA-125, together with sustained positive participation in the TA-90, would strengthen the recovery signal, while renewed weakness in banking shares could limit the broader advance. Institutional flows, global equity-market trends, interest-rate expectations, corporate earnings and developments in the bond market will remain important factors. For now, the data points to a cautiously constructive environment, with most major equity benchmarks higher, advancing securities outnumbering decliners across key indices and fixed-income markets maintaining modest gains.
