Key Points
- Rubrik delivered another strong quarterly performance, with subscription ARR reaching $1.66 billion, representing 33% year-over-year growth.
- Enterprise demand for cyber resilience solutions continues to expand, with more than 3,000 customers generating over $100,000 in subscription ARR.
- Profitability improved alongside growth, supported by stronger contribution margins, positive free cash flow and expanding international revenue.
Rubrik Inc. reported strong second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on August 27, 2026, highlighting continued enterprise demand for cybersecurity and cyber resilience platforms. The company’s performance reflects a broader shift in corporate technology priorities, as organizations increase spending on protecting critical data infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
With artificial intelligence accelerating both digital transformation and the complexity of cyber risks, Rubrik’s latest results demonstrate growing demand for integrated solutions that combine data protection, cloud security and identity resilience.
Subscription Growth Strengthens Rubrik’s Enterprise Position
Rubrik’s subscription Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) reached $1.66 billion, increasing 33% year over year. The company added approximately $96 million in net new subscription ARR during the quarter, representing a 35% increase compared with the same period last year.
Total revenue reached $427.3 million, growing 38% year over year, while subscription revenue increased 37% to $407.2 million. The results marked Rubrik’s tenth consecutive quarter of outperforming expectations, supported by continued enterprise adoption of its subscription-based cybersecurity platform.
The company’s customer expansion remained a central growth driver. Customers generating more than $100,000 in subscription ARR increased to 3,084, representing 23% year-over-year growth. Meanwhile, the company’s subscription net retention rate remained above 119%, indicating continued expansion among existing customers.
Cyber Resilience Demand Expands as AI Threats Increase
Rubrik’s growth strategy is increasingly connected to the rising importance of cyber resilience as enterprises face more advanced digital threats. The company has positioned its platform around protecting data across on-premises environments, cloud systems, software-as-a-service applications and identity infrastructure.
The company highlighted increasing interest in AI-driven security challenges, including emerging threats associated with automated cyber attacks. Rubrik’s expansion into areas such as Identity Resilience and Rubrik Agent Cloud reflects an effort to address broader security requirements as enterprises adopt artificial intelligence technologies.
Early adoption of new offerings has shown positive momentum, including more than 15 paying customers for Rubrik Agent Cloud and growing interest in the company’s unified platform contract model, Rubrik Flex. These developments indicate that enterprises are increasingly seeking consolidated cybersecurity solutions rather than managing multiple disconnected security tools.
Improving Profitability and Global Expansion Support Long-Term Strategy
Alongside revenue growth, Rubrik continued improving operational efficiency. Subscription ARR contribution margin increased to 14% for the twelve months ended July 31, improving by 460 basis points year over year.
The company generated $65.7 million in free cash flow during the quarter, compared with $57.5 million in the same period a year earlier. Non-GAAP gross margin remained strong at 81%, slightly below the prior-year level of 81.6% but still reflecting the scalability of the subscription business model.
Rubrik ended the quarter with approximately $1.75 billion in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments, providing financial flexibility as it continues investing in product development and market expansion.
Geographically, growth remained diversified. Revenue from the Americas increased 33% to $299 million, while revenue outside the Americas grew 52% to $129 million, demonstrating increasing international demand.
What Investors Should Monitor as Cybersecurity Competition Evolves
Going forward, investors will monitor Rubrik’s ability to sustain subscription growth, expand its cybersecurity platform and maintain profitability while competing in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Key factors include customer expansion, adoption of AI-related security products, international growth and the company’s execution in new markets such as identity protection.
The broader cybersecurity sector remains influenced by rising digital risks, regulatory requirements and enterprise investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Rubrik’s future performance will depend on how effectively it converts growing demand for cyber resilience into sustained revenue expansion while maintaining operational discipline.
