NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) is strengthening its semiconductor supply chain through a strategic agreement with Amkor Technology (AMKR), under which NVIDIA will provide a reported $1.5 billion prepayment to support advanced packaging and development activities. The move reflects a broader industry shift as artificial intelligence demand increases pressure on semiconductor manufacturers to expand capacity beyond traditional chip production.

The agreement is expected to support the expansion of U.S.-based advanced packaging capacity at Amkor’s Arizona campus, while enabling both companies to develop packaging and testing technologies designed for future AI and accelerated computing systems.
