Nvidia and SK Prepare New Cooperation Announcement

Nvidia and South Korea’s SK Group are expected to announce a new cooperation initiative, further strengthening ties between two of the most important players in the artificial intelligence supply chain.

According to SK Hynix, Chairman Chey Tae-won and Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang are scheduled to jointly brief the media regarding the partnership. While specific details were not disclosed ahead of the announcement, Huang indicated that discussions span several rapidly growing technology sectors.

Speaking with reporters in Seoul, Huang said Nvidia and SK are collaborating across artificial intelligence supercomputers, CPUs, next-generation personal computers, and robotics technologies.

The announcement comes as Nvidia continues expanding relationships with key semiconductor suppliers amid unprecedented global AI demand.

Huang Sees No Quick End to Chip Shortages

Huang also delivered a stark warning about the state of the semiconductor supply chain, saying shortages remain widespread and are likely to continue for years.

According to Huang, bottlenecks extend beyond memory chips and affect nearly every critical component involved in advanced AI hardware production.

He pointed to shortages across wafers, semiconductor packaging, silicon photonics, and other essential technologies that support AI infrastructure development.

“The whole industry supply chain is in short supply because demand is so high,” Huang said, adding that these constraints are likely to persist for several years.

The gathering reflects the increasingly close relationship between Nvidia and South Korea’s leading technology companies as both sides seek to capitalize on expanding opportunities within the global AI industry.
