Key Points
- Micron shares closed at $1,074.89 on October 2, with the stock remaining near historically elevated levels after a sharp 2026 rally.
- A simulated AI portfolio shown in the attached post allocated 56.9% to Micron, with the position valued at approximately $101,131 and showing a 22.7% gain.
- Micron's latest results underline the strength of AI-driven memory demand, with fiscal Q4 revenue reaching $54.23 billion and full-year revenue reaching $133.19 billion.
Micron Technology’s rapid rise has become one of the clearest examples of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the semiconductor industry. The stock recently traded around the $1,069 level shown in the attached portfolio post, while the company’s latest financial results showed an extraordinary acceleration in revenue and profitability as demand for memory used in AI infrastructure continued to expand.
The move has also changed the investment profile of Micron, historically known for the cyclical nature of the memory-chip industry. The company’s latest results indicate that AI infrastructure demand, particularly for high-performance memory, is becoming an increasingly important driver of its financial performance.
Micron’s Financial Performance Accelerates
Micron reported $54.23 billion in fiscal fourth-quarter revenue, compared with $41.46 billion in the previous quarter and $11.32 billion a year earlier. GAAP net income reached $37.70 billion, or $32.87 per diluted share, while non-GAAP net income reached $38.40 billion, or $33.42 per diluted share.
For the full fiscal year, revenue reached $133.19 billion, compared with $37.38 billion in the previous year. Full-year GAAP net income was $84.97 billion, while operating cash flow reached $89.68 billion.
The figures demonstrate how dramatically the economics of memory production have changed alongside AI infrastructure spending. Micron’s Core Data Center business generated $18.0 billion in fourth-quarter revenue, with an operating margin of 85%, while its Cloud Memory business generated $16.28 billion with an operating margin of 76%.
AI Demand Is Reshaping the Memory Cycle
The investment case surrounding Micron has increasingly become connected to the expansion of AI data centers. High-bandwidth memory is a critical component of accelerated computing systems, and rising demand for AI infrastructure has tightened the market for advanced memory products.
Micron’s management said its record fiscal 2026 performance was driven by AI-driven demand and strong operational execution. The company also reported that strategic customer agreements are providing greater visibility into future demand, while it continues increasing investment in manufacturing capacity and technology.
This represents an important shift for the memory industry. Historically, memory companies have been highly sensitive to supply cycles, pricing fluctuations and changes in PC and smartphone demand. The growth of AI data centers introduces a large additional source of demand, particularly for higher-value memory products.
What the $1,069 Level Means for the Market
The attached portfolio screenshot shows Micron at approximately $1,069, with the simulated position representing 56.9% of the portfolio and a reported value of $101,131. The portfolio’s Micron position had an entry price of $876.44 and showed a reported gain of 22.7% in the screenshot.
Separately, Micron shares closed at $1,074.89 on October 2, after reaching a 52-week high of $1,255. The stock’s valuation and price level now reflect expectations for continued earnings strength, making future results and guidance particularly important for market participants.
The company’s outlook provides additional context. Micron has forecast fiscal first-quarter revenue of approximately $61.5 billion, above analysts’ expectations, while customer commitments under long-term agreements have continued to increase. Reuters reported that remaining performance obligations reached $150 billion in the latest quarter, up from $100 billion previously.
Going forward, investors will be watching whether AI-related memory demand can remain strong enough to support Micron’s elevated earnings trajectory while the company expands production capacity. Supply growth, memory pricing, capital expenditure requirements, customer commitments and the pace of AI infrastructure investment will remain central indicators of how sustainable the current earnings cycle becomes.
