Key Points
- Adobe reported record third-quarter FY2026 revenue of $6.76 billion, up 13% year over year, while non-GAAP EPS rose 15% to $6.13.
- AI-first ARR exceeded $650 million and grew more than 150% year over year, while Adobe surpassed 1 billion monthly active users across its creativity and productivity products.
- Adobe raised its full-year FY2026 outlook to $26.576 billion–$26.626 billion of revenue and $24.45–$24.50 of non-GAAP EPS.
Adobe delivered record third-quarter FY2026 results as demand for AI-integrated creative, productivity and customer-experience products continued to expand. The results provide an important test of whether established software companies can convert rapid AI adoption into recurring revenue growth while maintaining the subscription economics that have supported Adobe’s business model.
Adobe Beats Expectations as Subscription Revenue Remains the Core Driver
Adobe reported $6.76 billion in third-quarter revenue for the period ended August 28, representing 13% year-over-year growth, or 12% in constant currency. GAAP diluted EPS reached $4.62, while non-GAAP EPS was $6.13, up 15% from the prior-year quarter. Revenue also exceeded the approximately $6.70 billion average analyst estimate compiled by LSEG, according to Reuters.
The quality of the growth remains significant because subscription revenue accounts for almost all of Adobe’s quarterly sales. Customer Group subscription revenue reached $6.56 billion, up 14% year over year. Business Professionals and Consumers generated $1.91 billion, up 16%, while Creative and Marketing Professionals produced $4.65 billion, up 13%. Adobe also exited the quarter with $27.50 billion in total ARR and $22.16 billion in remaining performance obligations.
AI Is Moving From Product Feature to Revenue Driver
The most closely watched element of the results is Adobe’s AI monetization. The company said AI-first ending ARR exceeded $650 million and grew more than 150% year over year. Adobe also reported that creative freemium monthly active users surpassed 100 million, growing more than 70%, while Firefly ending ARR across its applications and credit packs increased 40% sequentially.
The broader user base has also expanded substantially. Adobe surpassed 1 billion monthly active users across its creativity and productivity solutions, with total MAUs growing more than 20% year over year in the quarter. The company is increasingly using a freemium model to expand reach before converting users into paying customers, while embedding AI capabilities across Photoshop, Acrobat, Firefly, Express and enterprise products.
That strategy could become particularly important as competition in generative AI intensifies. Adobe’s advantage is not simply access to AI models, but the integration of those capabilities into established workflows used by creative professionals, businesses and enterprises. Recent Acrobat upgrades, for example, allow AI to turn documents into interactive reports, presentations, audio summaries and other outputs, while enterprise tools can query information across large document collections.
Higher Guidance Raises the Bar for Adobe’s AI Transition
Adobe raised its full-year FY2026 targets to $26.576 billion–$26.626 billion in revenue and $24.45–$24.50 in non-GAAP EPS. The company maintained its target for 10.2% year-over-year ending ARR growth. For the fourth quarter, Adobe expects revenue of $6.80 billion–$6.85 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $6.30–$6.35.
The financial profile remains strong, with third-quarter operating cash flow reaching a record $2.52 billion and non-GAAP operating income totaling $2.97 billion. Adobe also repurchased approximately 9.5 million shares during the quarter. These figures give the company considerable financial capacity to continue investing in AI products while returning capital to shareholders.
However, Adobe is entering an important leadership transition at the same time. Anil Chakravarthy, currently president of Adobe’s Customer Experience Orchestration business, is scheduled to become president and CEO on December 1, with longtime CEO Shantanu Narayen moving to executive chairman. The transition places additional emphasis on execution as Adobe attempts to scale its AI and agentic-product strategy.
Going forward, investors will be watching whether AI-first ARR can continue its rapid expansion while overall ARR, revenue and margins remain resilient. Adobe’s ability to turn its billion-user reach into higher-value subscriptions, enterprise AI adoption and recurring agentic workloads will determine whether the current AI momentum becomes a durable growth engine rather than simply another product-cycle boost.
