Key Points
- The investment extends Cyera’s previous funding, maintaining a $12 billion valuation and bringing total capital raised to $2.7 billion.
- Cyera acquires Israeli cybersecurity firm Oasis Security for $1 billion to secure non-human identities.
- The combined platform offers centralized visibility and control over data access for humans, legacy systems, and autonomous AI agents.
Israeli cybersecurity unicorn Cyera has announced a major financial milestone, securing a $400 million investment from global investment bank Goldman Sachs. The capital injection serves as an expansion of Cyera’s $600 million Series D round led by Evolution Equity Partners, which quadrupled the company’s valuation to $12 billion over an 18-month period. Concurrently, Cyera executed a major M&A transaction, acquiring Israeli cybersecurity firm Oasis Security for $1 billion. The combination positions Cyera as a dominant platform for data security and identity governance in the enterprise AI era.
Strategic Acquisition of Oasis: Managing Non-Human Identities
Founded in 2021 by Yotam Segev (CEO), Yonatan Itai (VP R&D), and Tamar Bar-Ilan (CTO)—graduates of the elite Talpiot program and Unit 8200—Cyera built its core business around Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for global enterprises like Paramount, Chipotle, and Valvoline. The acquisition of Oasis Security introduces dedicated capabilities for non-human identity management and governance. Integrating Oasis enables enterprise security teams to unify identity access controls, permissions, and data visibility across human employees, system service accounts, and autonomous AI agents through a single pane of glass.
The Frontier Problem: Securing Autonomous AI Agents in the Enterprise
Goldman Sachs’ Growth Equity arm, operating within an alternative asset management platform exceeding $706 billion, executed the investment to address the rapid deployment of autonomous AI agents across corporate environments. Unlike traditional software, AI agents reason, execute tools, utilize access credentials, and process sensitive data autonomously. As these agents gain broader operational access to drive productivity, they introduce systemic security vectors that legacy Identity and Access Management (IAM) architectures—designed strictly for human users and static applications—cannot adequately defend.
With total funding now reaching $2.7 billion and backing from prominent venture firms including Sequoia, Accel, Lightspeed, Coatue, and Cyberstarts, Cyera possesses significant capital to define the AI security market. Bridging data security with non-human identity governance provides the company with a distinct competitive advantage. As enterprise workflows shift toward agentic AI models, providing granular visibility and policy enforcement over autonomous entities will remain a critical requirement for global Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs).
