Tel Aviv Market Finds Stability After Sharp Declines

Tel Aviv equities closed broadly steady on September 14, 2026, as the market attempted to stabilize following the pronounced selling pressure recorded in the previous session. The Tel Aviv-35 edged 0.14% higher to 4,227.56, while the broader Tel Aviv-125 added 0.11% to 4,125.98.

The improvement was modest, but market breadth was considerably more balanced than during the September 10 selloff. Within the TA-125, 64 securities advanced compared with 61 that declined, suggesting that buying and selling pressures were relatively evenly matched.

Financial Stocks Outperform While Smaller Companies Remain Weak

Financial stocks provided some of the stronger support for the market. The Tel Aviv 90 and Banks index gained 0.37% to 4,090.33, outperforming both the TA-35 and TA-125.

The broader market, however, remained mixed. The Tel Aviv-90 slipped 0.03% to 3,827.05, with an even split between 45 advancing and 45 declining securities. The Tel Aviv-200 fell 0.08% to 4,007.72, while the Tel Aviv-SME60 declined 0.75% to 1,324.23.

Other benchmarks were largely flat. The Tel Aviv Sector-Balance index finished unchanged at 4,733.78, while the Tel Aviv-20 also ended unchanged at 4,096.09. The mixed performance indicates that the stabilization was not yet accompanied by a decisive broad-market recovery.

Turnover Remains Elevated Amid Sharp Individual Moves

Trading activity remained significant despite the limited movement in the major indices. Total stock turnover reached approximately NIS 3.312 billion, while bond turnover totaled approximately NIS 4.701 billion. TA-125 turnover was approximately NIS 2.443 billion, while the Tel Aviv-200 recorded approximately NIS 2.548 billion.

Individual stocks continued to show considerable volatility. Arit Industries was the strongest notable gainer within the TA-125, jumping 12.70% to 1,721. At the other end of the spectrum, Electra Real Estate declined 6.85% to 1,999. Workers recorded a reported trading cycle of approximately NIS 197.700 million.

The next sessions will be important for determining whether September 14 marks the beginning of a broader stabilization or simply a pause in the recent decline. Investors will likely watch the TA-125 around 4,100–4,200, the TA-35 above 4,200 and the TA-90 near 3,800, while paying close attention to market breadth. A continued improvement in participation, combined with sustained turnover, could strengthen the case for a recovery, while renewed weakness in smaller companies or a return to heavily negative breadth would signal that downside risks remain. Individual-stock volatility also suggests that selective opportunities may continue to emerge even as the broader market searches for direction.
