Tel Aviv stocks are trading broadly lower, with most major benchmarks declining between roughly 0.3% and 1%. Selling pressure is particularly visible among small- and mid-cap shares, while banking stocks are proving comparatively resilient and limiting some of the weakness in the broader market.

Major Tel Aviv Indices Under Pressure

The TA-35 is down 0.61% at 4,195.86 points, with 13 advancing securities compared with 23 declining. The negative market breadth indicates that the decline is accompanied by weakness across a meaningful portion of the benchmark rather than being driven solely by a small number of constituents. Turnover in the TA-35 stands at approximately NIS 375.4 million, indicating substantial trading activity alongside the decline.

The broader TA-90 is down 0.35% at 3,815.16 points, with 34 advancing securities and 54 declining. The TA-125, which provides a wider representation of the local equity market, is falling 0.56% to 4,098.02 points. Within the index, 47 securities are advancing while 77 are declining, and turnover has reached approximately NIS 461.6 million.

Broader Market Weakness Extends to Smaller Companies

The wider market is also under pressure. The TA-200 declines 0.52% to 3,990.12 points, with 64 advancing securities versus 129 declining. Turnover stands at approximately NIS 495.4 million, the highest among the benchmarks listed in the current market data. TA Sector-Balance is down 0.55% at 4,707.58 points, with 37 advancing securities and 62 declining. Turnover in the index is approximately NIS 442.1 million.

Weakness is even more pronounced in the TA-SME60. The index falls 0.97% to 1,321.25 points, with just 12 advancing securities against 45 declining. Turnover stands at approximately NIS 34.2 million. The combination of a larger decline and distinctly negative breadth points to stronger selling pressure among small- and mid-cap stocks than in the large-cap segment.

Banking Shares Show Relative Resilience

The TA 90 and Banks index is down just 0.04% at 4,073.96 points, making it one of the more resilient benchmarks in the current session. However, the breadth within the index remains negative, with 39 advancing securities compared with 54 declining. Turnover has reached approximately NIS 197.6 million, pointing to continued activity in the banking segment despite its limited overall decline.

The TA-20 is also lower, falling 0.65% to 4,069.44 points. Nine securities are advancing compared with 11 declining. The relatively narrow breadth in the TA-20 contrasts with the much wider negative breadth in the TA-200 and TA-125, but the index’s price performance remains among the weaker results across the major benchmarks.

What to Watch as Trading Continues

The key question for the remainder of the session is whether the current declines stabilize or broaden further. Investors will likely monitor the TA-35 and TA-125 for changes in market breadth, while the banking index may provide an important signal on risk appetite in major Israeli equities. The performance of the TA-SME60 and TA-200 will also be important in determining whether selling pressure is becoming increasingly broad-based. Global equity markets, interest-rate expectations, currency movements and sector-specific capital flows remain additional factors that could influence the direction of Tel Aviv stocks as trading continues.
