Tel Aviv equities are trading with a mixed performance, as selected large-cap benchmarks remain higher while mid-cap, small-cap and broader market indices face pressure. The TA-35 and TA-20 are advancing, helping offset declines in the TA-90, TA-SME60 and TA-200, pointing to a selective market rather than a uniform direction across Tel Aviv equities.

TA-35 and TA-20 Lead Selected Gains

The TA-35 is gaining 0.61% to 4,289.23 points. However, its market breadth is almost evenly divided, with 17 securities advancing compared with 18 declining. This means that the benchmark’s positive performance is occurring despite a slightly larger number of declining securities, indicating that the gain is not broadly distributed across its constituents.

The TA-125 is also higher, rising 0.31% to 4,213.36 points. Its breadth is considerably weaker, with 39 securities advancing and 85 declining. The positive movement in the index therefore contrasts with the underlying distribution of individual stock performance.

The strongest gain among the listed benchmarks is being recorded by the TA-20, which is up 0.78% at 4,166.94 points. Its breadth is positive, with 13 advancing securities compared with six declining. This makes the TA-20 a notable area of relative strength within the current Tel Aviv market.

TA-90 and Smaller Companies Face Pressure

The TA-90 is declining 0.59% to 3,984.34 points, with 22 advancing securities and 67 declining. The negative breadth indicates that weakness is widespread across the benchmark rather than concentrated in a limited number of constituents.

The TA-SME60 is experiencing an even sharper decline, falling 0.95% to 1,384.61 points. Only 12 securities are advancing, compared with 45 declining. This makes the small- and mid-cap segment the weakest-performing area among the listed benchmarks and highlights a clear contrast with the gains being recorded in the TA-20 and TA-35.

The TA-200 is also under pressure, declining 0.42% to 4,142.74 points. Its breadth is notably negative, with 56 advancing securities against 135 declining. The figures indicate that selling pressure extends across a substantial portion of the broader Tel Aviv equity market.

Banking Shares Remain Relatively Stable

The TA 90 and Banks Index is down 0.08% at 4,210.40 points. Its breadth is negative, with 27 securities advancing compared with 67 declining. Although the index is only marginally lower, the underlying breadth suggests that weakness is relatively widespread among its constituents.

The TA Sector-Balance Index is also declining, falling 0.19% to 4,860.63 points. There are 31 advancing securities and 68 declining securities, reinforcing the broader pattern of negative breadth across several market segments.

Reported turnover is relatively substantial across the major benchmarks. The TA-200 records approximately NIS 400.1 million, while the TA-125 records approximately NIS 388.1 million. The TA Sector-Balance Index records approximately NIS 369.5 million, and the TA-35 records approximately NIS 322.5 million. The TA-20 records approximately NIS 248.1 million, while the TA 90 and Banks Index records approximately NIS 187.1 million. The TA-90 records approximately NIS 65.6 million, and the TA-SME60 records approximately NIS 12.0 million.

What to Watch as Trading Continues

Investors will be watching whether the strength in the TA-35 and TA-20 can be sustained and whether the weakness in the TA-90, TA-SME60 and TA-200 begins to stabilize. Market breadth will remain particularly important because several benchmarks are posting gains despite having more declining than advancing securities. Continued weakness in smaller and mid-cap shares could signal a more cautious approach to risk, while sustained strength in selected large-cap segments could help support the broader market. Trading activity, banking shares, global equity-market conditions, interest-rate expectations and company-specific developments will remain key factors in determining the direction of Tel Aviv equities as the session progresses.
