Key Points
- Tel Aviv equities are recovering broadly, with the TA-35 rising 0.09%, the TA-125 gaining 0.26%, and the TA-90 advancing 0.73%.
- Market breadth has improved sharply, with advancing securities significantly exceeding declining shares across the TA-90, TA-125, TA-90 and Banks Index, value stocks and sector benchmarks.
- Bond markets are also moving higher, with the All-Bond Index gaining 0.04%, Tel Bond A Inflation-Linked rising 0.02%, and Tel Bond 60 Inflation-Linked advancing 0.09%.
Tel Aviv financial markets are showing a broad recovery following the heavy selling pressure seen in the previous session. The major equity benchmarks are trading higher, while market breadth has turned decisively positive across most segments. The improvement is particularly visible in mid-cap, value, banking and sector-oriented shares, while bond markets are also posting modest gains.
TA-90 Leads Equity Recovery as Market Breadth Improves
The TA-35 has gained 0.09% to 4,180.27 points. Its internal participation is positive, with 21 advancing securities compared with 15 declining securities and no unchanged securities. While the benchmark’s gain is modest, the positive breadth suggests that buying interest is extending across more of its constituents rather than being limited to a small number of large-cap companies.
The broader TA-125 has advanced 0.26% to 4,051.54 points. Market breadth is considerably stronger, with 98 advancing securities compared with only 28 declining securities and no unchanged securities. This is a significant improvement from the previous session, when declining securities substantially outnumbered advancing shares. The data indicates that the recovery is broad-based across the wider Tel Aviv equity market.
Mid-cap stocks are leading the advance. The TA-90 has climbed 0.73% to 3,648.89 points, with 77 advancing securities and only 13 declining securities. The absence of unchanged securities further emphasizes the strength of the move. The strong breadth suggests that investors are returning to a broad range of mid-cap companies following the sharp market decline.
The TA-90 and Banks Index has also gained 0.36% to 3,890.57 points. Its internal participation is particularly strong, with 78 advancing securities compared with 17 declining securities. The figures indicate that banking and financial shares are participating in the recovery and are contributing to the broader improvement in investor sentiment.
Equity turnover has reached approximately ₪493 million, reflecting active participation as investors adjust positions following the previous session’s broad decline.
Value Stocks and Sector Benchmarks Strengthen
The TA-125 Value Index is among the strongest equity benchmarks, rising 1.24% to 4,109.90 points. Its internal breadth is clearly positive, with 45 advancing securities compared with only 11 declining securities. The combination of strong price performance and broad participation suggests that value-oriented shares are attracting significant buying interest.
The TA Sector-Balance Index has also advanced 0.62% to 4,593.41 points. Market breadth is strongly positive, with 76 advancing securities compared with 24 declining securities. This indicates that the recovery extends across multiple sectors rather than being concentrated in a narrow group of companies.
The current market structure represents a clear shift from the previous session’s risk-off environment. The TA-35, TA-90 and TA-125 are all higher, while the number of advancing securities substantially exceeds declining securities across the major benchmarks. The improvement is particularly notable in the TA-125, where 98 securities are advancing.
The strong performance of value stocks also indicates that investors are moving beyond the largest companies and seeking opportunities across broader areas of the market. The combination of positive breadth and gains in banking and sector benchmarks provides additional evidence of improving participation.
Bond Markets Recover as Fixed-Income Breadth Turns Positive
Fixed-income markets are also showing a constructive performance. The All-Bond Index has gained 0.04% to 432.26 points, with 171 advancing securities compared with 51 declining securities and 206 unchanged securities. The positive breadth indicates that the improvement is spread across a substantial portion of the bond market.
The Short-Term Bond Index is unchanged at 477.90 points. Its internal participation remains positive, with 16 advancing securities compared with nine declining securities and seven unchanged securities. The stability of shorter-duration bonds suggests continued demand for relatively defensive fixed-income exposure.
Inflation-linked bonds are also moving higher. The Tel Bond A Inflation-Linked Index has gained 0.02% to 438.40 points, with 20 advancing securities compared with eight declining securities and 44 unchanged securities. The Tel Bond 60 Inflation-Linked Index has advanced 0.09% to 428.17 points, supported by 36 advancing securities compared with only one declining security and five unchanged securities.
Bond-market turnover stands at approximately ₪154 million, while equity-market turnover is approximately ₪493 million. The combined activity shows that investors remain engaged across both asset classes as market conditions stabilize.
Outlook: Investors Watch Whether the Rebound Can Extend
Looking ahead, the key question for Tel Aviv investors is whether the sharp improvement in market breadth can develop into a sustained recovery following the previous session’s broad selling. Continued participation across the TA-90, TA-125, value and sector benchmarks would strengthen the signal that investor confidence is rebuilding, while renewed weakness in large-cap shares could challenge the rebound. Institutional flows, global equity-market trends, interest-rate expectations, corporate earnings and developments in fixed-income markets will remain important factors. For now, the data points to a meaningful improvement in market conditions, with equities and bonds both advancing and buying interest clearly exceeding selling pressure across most major segments.
