Nexperia said its operations in China are largely back online after a mass disabling of employee office accounts caused significant disruption across the company’s local systems.

The incident temporarily affected multiple internal processes, forcing the company’s Chinese subsidiary to activate emergency recovery procedures.

Operational Systems Temporarily Disrupted

According to a statement released by Nexperia China on its WeChat account, the shutdown of employee office accounts disrupted several operational functions within the company.

One of the most affected processes involved the company’s SAP order-to-production workflow used to manage customer-supplied wafers. These systems play a critical role in coordinating chip manufacturing orders and supply chain logistics.

The disruption briefly halted parts of the production chain while internal teams worked to restore system access.

Emergency Response Plan Activated

In response to the disruption, the company implemented an emergency response plan designed to stabilize operations and restore essential systems.

Most of the company’s activities in China have now resumed, though the firm did not specify how long the disruption lasted or whether all internal systems have been fully restored.

The swift response allowed production and operational workflows to gradually return to normal.

Semiconductor Operations Remain Sensitive to System Interruptions

Semiconductor manufacturing relies heavily on tightly integrated digital systems for supply chain coordination, production scheduling, and quality control.

Even brief interruptions to enterprise resource planning platforms can affect order processing and manufacturing timelines, especially in wafer fabrication and chip packaging operations.

China remains an important manufacturing hub for global semiconductor companies, making operational stability in the region critical for maintaining supply chain continuity.
