MongoDB Delivers Strong Double-Digit Growth and Record Profitability – Q1 2026 Earnings Report
MongoDB kicked off fiscal 2026 with impressive results, reflecting rapid revenue growth, record profitability, and accelerated expansion in cloud and AI markets. The company’s Q1 financials highlight its position as a global leader in cloud-based database solutions, showing continued adoption by major enterprises and fast-growing startups alike.
Significant Revenue Growth and Profitability Improvement
For the first quarter of fiscal 2026, MongoDB reported revenue of $549 million, up 22% year-over-year. The main growth driver remains the Atlas cloud platform, which saw 26% annual growth and now accounts for 72% of total revenue.
Non-GAAP operating income surged to $87.4 million—nearly triple the $32.8 million from the same quarter last year. Adjusted net income reached $86.3 million, or $1.00 per share, versus a loss of $42.7 million ($0.51 per share) in Q1 2025.
The company also delivered strong free cash flow of $105.9 million, up from $61 million a year earlier.
Customer Growth and Market Reach
MongoDB added 2,600 new customers during the quarter, bringing its total to over 57,100, including roughly 2,500 generating more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue. With 70% of Fortune 100 companies using MongoDB solutions, the platform continues to gain ground among both large enterprises and innovative startups. This growth is fueled by the global shift toward cloud-native applications, data-driven business, and the integration of artificial intelligence.
Expanded Share Repurchase and Optimistic Guidance
The company expanded its share repurchase program to $1 billion, underlining management’s confidence in MongoDB’s financial strength and future prospects.
For Q2, MongoDB expects revenue between $548–553 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.62–0.66. For the full fiscal year, the company forecasts $2.25–2.29 billion in revenue and non-GAAP EPS of $2.94–3.12.
Innovation and Technology – A Platform for the Next Wave
During the quarter, MongoDB launched upgrades to its Voyage AI products and the MCP protocol, enabling seamless integration between the database and AI-powered developer tools, including direct connections to GitHub Copilot and other agentic assistants. These initiatives reinforce MongoDB’s positioning as a critical platform for the next generation of real-time, AI-enabled cloud applications.
What Does MongoDB Do?
MongoDB is a global leader in cloud database (Database as a Service) technology, serving millions of developers and thousands of organizations worldwide—from fintech and e-commerce to AI and IoT.
Conclusion and Outlook
MongoDB continues to post rapid double-digit growth, clear improvements in profitability and cash flow, and broad-based global adoption. Its advanced technology strategy, expanding cloud and AI footprint, and growing customer base cement its position as a key player in the tech industry with a positive outlook for the rest of 2026.
