Introduction
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) opened today in negative territory, with most major equity indices posting slight declines. While large-cap stocks show weakness, the bond market remains relatively stable, with some short-term bond indices recording modest gains. Leading Indices: TA-35 and TA-125 Edge Lower
At the market open, the TA-35 Index fell 0.27% to 3,039.82 points, with a high turnover of approximately ₪279 million. Among the index components, 11 stocks are up, while 24 are down.
The TA-90 Index posted a sharper decline of 0.49%, closing at 3,338.46 points, with 18 gainers against 71 losers. The TA-125 Index, which includes large and mid-cap stocks, slipped 0.33% to 3,104.98 points, with 95 declining stocks compared to just 29 gainers.
The TA-Sector Balance Index also weakened, falling 0.47%, reflecting broad-based weakness across leading sectors.
Bond Market: Mixed Picture with Slight Upside Bias
The bond market presents a more stable outlook. The Tel-Bond Linked A Index remained unchanged, while the Tel-Bond 60 Linked Index edged higher by 0.01%. Similarly, the Short-Term Bond Index gained 0.01%, signaling investor interest in short-term debt during uncertain times. In contrast, the All-Bond General Index dipped marginally by 0.02%.
